Suzannah Miller

I am a general dentist working in large family private practice on Auckland’s North Shore. I am an NZDA and ADA (Auckland Dental Association) member. I have a passion for treating children and am currently undertaking a post-graduate diploma in paediatric dentistry through the University of Otago, New Zealand. I have been on the ARDS (Auckland Regional Dental Service) list to provide sedation for children referred by COHTs through the Ministry of Health, providing nitrous oxide sedation to anxious children and those difficult to treat in the community clinics. My aim is to help some of these children as a last resort before referring for GA. Unfortunately many families cannot afford a private GA and many are left in pain on a very long waitlist for a hospital GA. As a mother to neurodivergent children, I understand some of the challenges of managing dental treatment when you have ASD or ADHD and am trying to accomodate some of these children and adolescents with NOS.
