Dr Sue Taji is an experienced paediatric dental specialist, having completed her dental degree in 1999 and speciality training at the University of Queensland in 2010. Dr Sue is a fellow of the International Association of Dental Traumatology (FIADT), the International College of Dentists (FICD), a fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy (FPFA) and a fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International (FADI) encompassing her contributions to dentistry at all levels. Dr Sue is a past Federal President of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric Dentistry (ANZSPD), and has served as a Federal Councillor for Queensland close to a decade. She has also served as Federal Secretary of the Australasian Academy of Paediatric Dentistry (AAPD). Dr Sue holds surgical accreditation at various hospitals, she remains clinically orientated and restricts her Brisbane specialist practice to the management of paediatric patients from infancy to school years and those with special needs. Dr Sue was awarded membership to the prestigious Golden Key Honours Society for excellence during her studies, subsequently working in Private Practice in Brisbane for a decade prior to completing her Clinical Doctorate in Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Queensland in 2010. Completing numerous research projects during this time, she has published in national and international journals and has co-authored various textbook chapters on paediatric dental aspects with a focus on tooth enamel defects. Dr Taji has presented at numerous conferences, continuing professional development programs and training seminars on a range of paediatric dental topics and is regularly an invited speaker. Most recently in 2022, Dr Taji successfully completed a graduate certificate in the field of Autism, a one year university degree on this specific topic, allowing her a much greater appreciation of managing & assisting children and families with Autism. Further, Dr Sue’s own personal experience with one of her own children having been diagnosed with Autism & ADHD, has given her a much broader understanding of the needs of families & children with special needs. Outside of dentistry, Dr Sue enjoys the great outdoors, time on the water and travelling with her husband, three kids, two cats and one dog.
