Dr Candy is one of the few registered specialist in Special Needs Dentistry in Queensland. Dr Candy SND is the first specialist dental clinic to provide transition care in Queensland. She works with patients with special needs to bring them oral health equity. Intellectual disability
Physical disability
Complex medical history
Severe mental illness or psychiatric disorders (e.g. needle phobia, dental phobia)
– Dental treatment under nitrous oxide (happy gas) or general anaesthetics (in hospital)
– Transition care: when a teenager/ young adult is transitioning from their paediatric dentist to a specialist in SND.
